Gown designed by Sue Hoeltge, Winner of The Lawton Design Challenge 2003

Doll: 14” wood and porcelain

Edition limited to 175

During the Gilded Age of the 1870’s, opulence reigned. This 14” lady wears an exquisite black check and red visiting gown of silk dupioni consisting of double-breasted basque, apron overskirt and skirt. The skirt is bordered with a flounce and ruching and a large bias trimmed bow. Her basque features bias trim and ruching with a gathering of lace at the throat. She carries an ornate walking stick with a rhinestone finial. A feather trimmed hat sets atop her brown curls. She has brown glass eyes.
